Oreo Balls!!...er Truffles!!!

One of my dad's coworkers wives brought these into his station one ti
me and my dad just fell in love with them and asked my mom to start making them. This a very easy, no bake recipe, so great for college students.
You need:
1 pack of Oreo's (NOT DOUBLE STUFT!!! Try the mint kind for a fun flavor)
1 8-oz pack of cream cheese (room temperature)
Baker's chocolate or chocolate chips (some kind of melting chocolate)

That's it!
Now it helps if you have a food processor, but you need to crush the Oreo's up as well as you can. I put mine in two plastic bags (half the Oreo package at a time) and just beat them with my hands (nice stress reliever too). I also used the bottom of a bowl to grind them up even more.

Now mix in the cream cheese with your Oreo dust. Just use your hands, it's easiest.

After you have the cream cheese mixed fully with the Oreo (there shouldn't be any white
showing), proceed to form the mix into about one inch balls and place on some wax paper or aluminum foil. It should make about three dozen. After you have made all the balls place them in the fridge for about 10-15 minutes.
After the ball have chilled for a bit, it's time to melt the chocolate. Follow the instructions given to melt your chocolate. Now cover the balls with the melted chocolate. If you don't want to get your hands all messy again use two spoons to plop the balls in and roll them around.

Place them back on the tray (or whatever you used!) and put them back in the fridge. This time for about 15-20 minutes. The chocolate should be hardened when you take them out.
I find them better to be served chilled but room temperature works too.

If you want to get really fancy (I didn't have time tonight) buy some white chocolate to melt as well. Add some food coloring to the melted white chocolate (blue and gold/yellow would be nice!) and drizzle that over the balls. You can use a plastic bag with the tiniest tip snipped off to use as a piper thingy.

Enjoy!!

  1. Wow, those truly sound delicious. Sometimes when i eat mint oreo's i feel like I'm eating toothpaste, but this would most likely help alleviate that problem. Thanks!
