Today I found out that Woody's would be closed from 3 to 5. At first I was pretty disappointed since I hadn't eaten anything all day. But when I went there I was pleasantly surprised. The entire dining hall was celebrating Christmas early. It was decorated in festive colors and as I stepped in I was served several appetizers like chicken on a stick and meatballs. After that I had my buzzcard swiped, I stepped into a line that seemed to go on forever. But it was well worth the wait. There was roast chicken and steak. But the best part was the desserts. There were gingerbread men and candy canes. There were also cookies that were stacked up to make a house. A lot of us complain about the dining halls but I thought that it was very nice of the staff to put together such an amazing evening.

ReplyDeleteThey had the same thing at Brittain today. The food was much better than usual, and their desserts were really good.
ReplyDeleteYep, I heard about the delicious dishes in Brittains but I didn't know there were something amazing in the Woodruff. It's the pity that I don't live on the West Campus.
ReplyDeleteYeah I went to Brittain today at about nine so the "Holiday" food was pretty much gone but they still had a lot of desserts left (mostly chocolate cake). The one lady was dipping strawberries in chocolate. They even had an ice sculpture! I thought that was kinda crazy, but it looked nice. What a nice treat for dead week.
ReplyDeleteExactly what I thought! We got "real" food tonight and I was really glad to be there. There was so many people and the place was kind of overcrowded but the food was good so I don't complain. =)
ReplyDeleteI got to Woody just at 4:55 and was surprised to see so many people waiting outside. And Woody indeed gave us a big surprise~ I love the puffs and the gingerbread~
