Iron Chef GT ??

Have you ever heard of Iron Chef event at Georgia Tech???

Today in my GT 1000 class, we talked about the clubs and events.
One of my friend asked our student leaders whether they knew any clubs related to food.
Then, one of the leader mentioned Iron Chef Georgia Tech..
It made me laugh out loud. hahaha college student trying to cook?
I thought it was funny, when all of us are trying to produce cook books that are easy to follow specifically designed for college student usage. I was wondering how it would be like, I really wished I could go watch Iron Chef GT. One of the leaders told us that it is easy to create an event like this. All we had to do is talk to our PLs then they will pretty much take care of it and they will readily present a bill and organize pretty much do everything for us. When I heard this, I was anxious to leave the class room and go talk to my PL, I was pretty much day dreaming till the end of the class( which I do not usually do). I think the fact topic of my English class was food just made me become more interested in food. If I heard about Iron Chef GT before I was taking this class, I would not have been as interested.

  1. Iron Chef GT should be a school wide ordeal, and the best chefs here should face off against UGA's best chefs. I think several people would go for this unless there are culinary majors at UGA.

  2. I agree, this class has changed my view on the gourmet world. I never gave food much thought until now. That event does sound pretty cool!

  4. There must be a fight between UGA and GT if the Iron Chef GT exists. It will be as exciting as Iron Chef America due to the delicate relationship between UGA and GT.
Also, this class has changed my view on the cuisine. Originally I thought food was simple and there was little thought in it.Now,it seems to have so many to discuss, emotions, scientific thoughts, and so on.

  5. in my opinion, Iron Chef is never really about competing. Although it is in that structure, but I guess nobody will think the loser is a bad cook. Iron Chef is indeed about showing the mess how the food can possibly be and how creative are cooks. Those idea definitely can't be fulfilled in GT

  6. HAHA, Wow thats funny, that Georia Tech would think of something like that. I wonder how related the Gt iron chef is compared to the actual iron chef. I bet there are really good chefs who are in that club.

  7. Lol, thats interesting. Engineers at Tech can also be iron chef. But in my opinion, great food is not about competition, the essence is the taste and joy brings to the people.

  8. I am sure that there are "some" people here who know a thing or two about cooking. That does sound fun to do though. I would definitely be down to have a cook-off with other students.

  11. I'd be up to compete if this actually happens. I'd think that out of all of the 10,000 students at tech, at least a few of us would be able to hold our own in a real cooking competition.
